Ford GT

In 1966 Ford produced a new race car called the GT40. At this time Ferrari was the defending champion of the 24 hours of Le Mans. That would soon change. From 1966 to 1969 the GT40 won 4 straight times. 36 years after the GT40's last win, Ford produced the GT, celebrating not only the GT40, but Ford's 100th anniversary. The headlights are actually designed to look like a 100. The GT is amazing. It has one of the lowest horsepower to price ratios among supercars. It also has one of the best horsepower to top speed ratios. It has 550 horsepower coming from it's 5.4L supercharged V8. It goes from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, which is faster than the Dodge Viper SRT-10 with 600 horsepower, the Porsche Carrera GT with 612 horsepower, and the Chevy Corvette ZR1 with 638 horsepower. It has a top speed of 205 mph, which is the same top speed as the Carrera GT and the ZR1. And all of this just goes to show, you can't judge a car by it's horsepower.

B Engineering Edonis

When Bugatti went bankrupt in 1995, B Engineering and Dauer bought the remaining cars. B Engineering did major changes to the car. In fact, the only thing that B Engineering didn't change was the chassis. The result: the B Engineering Edonis. Engine size was increased to 3.7L and power was increased to 680 horsepower. It has a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and top speed of 227 mph. B Enginnering plans to sell 21.

Vector SRV-8

Vector is an American company that makes (or made) supercars. This is the SRV8. It is one of the rarest supercars in the world. Less than 5 were produced. This is one of the only photos of ever taken of it. The SRV8 has 525 horsepower and is a tuned version of the Vector M12. It uses a Lamborghini V12 used in the Lamborghini Diablo. It went from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, and it has a top speed of 204 mph.

Ultima GTR

Ultima is a British car company that makes sports cars. This is their first supercar, the GTR. It started production in 2005. There are 2 different models: the GTR 640(640 horsepower) and the GTR720(720 horsepower). It has a 6.0L twin turbo V8 producing all that power. It's one of the fastest accelerating street legal cars in the world. It goes from 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, 0-100 in 5.3 seconds, and the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT

SSC is an American company. SSC stands for Shelby Super Cars, although it has nothing to do with Shelby. This is their first car, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. It started production in 2006. On September 13, 2007 it broke the record for fastest street-legal car in the world. It has 1,183 horsepower, a top speed of 257 mph, and a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds. This year SSC is planning on making an electric version.

Spyker C8 Double 12 S

Spyker is a company in the Nederlands. They produce high performance sports cars. This is the C8 Double 12S. It goes from 0-60 in 4.4 and has a top speed of 214 mph. It's 4.1L produces 650 horsepower. It's the fastest street legal version of the C8.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage

This is the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. It's a brand new car coming out this year. It is a tuned version of the V8 Vantage. It will have 600 horsepower and a top speed of 200+ mph. It will be the fastest and most powerful street-legal Aston Martin ever.

Ascari A10

Ascari is a British company founded in 1995. This is the Ascari A10. It is a modified version of the KZ1 adding 120 horsepower, which makes a total of 625 horsepower. It goes from 0- 60 in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 215 mph. It has a 5.0L BMW V8.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Alfa Romeo is an Italian company founded in 1910. This is their first supercar, the 8C Competizione. (Italian for “competition”). It has a top speed of 181 mph, and a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. It’s 4.7L V8 produces 444 horsepower. Only 500 will be made

Bugatti EB110

The Bugatti EB110 is a supercar produced by Bugatti from 1991-1995. It's named the EB110 because it was unveiled 110 years after Ettore Bugatti's (founder of Bugatti) birth. It had a 3.5L quad-turbocharged V12 producing 542 horsepower. It went from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, on it's way to a top speed of 213 mph. In 1992, a lighter and more powerful model with 592 hp, the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, was introduced. It was capable of 216 mph. In 1995 the company went bankrupt and the remaining cars were sold to B Engineering and Dauer. B Engineering took the cars and tuned them, changing the looks as well. This turned ended up being the B Engineering Edonis. Dauer took theirs and made them lighter, more powerful, longer, and wider. The Dauer EB110 Super Sport was the fastest EB110, with 650 horsepower and a top speed of 230 mph.

Bentley Brooklands

The Bentley Brooklands is an exclusive Bentley 4-seater. It was made from 1992-1998, then went back into production last year. It's 6.8 L Rolls Royce V8 produces 530 horsepower. It goes from 0-60 in 5 seconds, and has a top speed of 184 mph. Only 550 will be made.

BMW M5

The BMW M5 is one of approximately 15 4-door supercars. It's been produced since 1985. It's 5.0L V10 produces 507 horsepower. It goes from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, and 0-100 in 10.1 seconds. It's top speed with the electronic limiter is 155 mph, but without, it's capable of 195 mph. It's one of the fastest BMWs ever.

Audi R8

This is the Audi Le Mans Quattro. It was the original design for the Audi R8.

This is the Audi R8. It is Audi's first supercar. It has a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 187 mph. It's 4.2L V8 produces 420 horsepower. A new V10 version is also available. It has 517 horsepower, a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 196 mph. It is the fastest street-legal Audi ever.

This is a concept version of the Audi R8. It's called the Audi R8 V12 Tdi. It has improved aerodynamics and a more powerful engine.

Shelby Mustang GT500

Today's car of the day is the Shelby Mustang GT500.The 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.4L V-8 engine expected to produce 540 horsepower. The car went into production about a month ago. It is the fastest street-legal Mustang ever.

Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Today's car of the day is the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. Saleen is an American car company that mostly tunes Fords. This car, though, is completely made by Saleen. It has 787 horsepower and a top speed of 248 mph. It is the 4th fastest car in the world. It accelerates from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. It has a 7.0L Twin Turbo V8. It was produced from 2005-2006.

Porsche Carrera GT

One of the things I'm going to do on this blog is try to put a new post every day: the car of the day. Today's car of the day is my favorite car, the Porsche Carrera GT.

The Porsche Carrera GT has 612 horsepower and a top speed of 205 mph. It's the fastest street legal Porsche ever, which is why it's my favorite car. It was made from 2003-2006 and 1,270 were made. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It has a 5.7L V10, which is the first V-10 ever made by Porsche. The ignition is on the left of the steering wheel, like all Porsches, and gear selector is right next to the steering wheel, making it easier to shift.The Carrera GT also has a hydraulic spoiler, which deploys when the car is traveling over 70 mph
